So - heres a Gin you did not expect - destilled on juniper and orange ants......! Yes - you read correct - those little buggers (Lasius fuliginosus) in the forrest, biting your a** when you sit on a stump enjoying the view!
We imaging Sams Island Destillery must have asked themselves, what they had in plenty on the Island, and then thought: "When Noma can serve them in Copenhagen, so can we on Sams Island" :)
The taste from the ants, is very distinctive and very similar to a orange/citrus zest used in other Gins. The taste is very crisp and have a little "zing" to it, and is the followed by the junipers.
The Gin is a small batch production and bottled by hand.
