Silent Pool Gin

United Kingdom

Description

Surrey-based Silent Pool is not just a beautiful gin to look at – it truly is a beautiful gin! Although it’s a new gin (2015) it’s made the old fashion way.

The name Silent Pool comes from the crystal clear – and allegedly haunted - lake near the distillery, that provides them with the spring water for the production. According to the legend from the 13th Century, a beautiful young woman was bathing in the pools when she was drowned by King Richard’s evil brother, prince John. It is said that she is not haunting the lake at midnight.

The distillery has been founded on principles of sustainability and are using an old English wood-fired steam boiler from the 1970s. Made with 24 different botanicals including kaffir lime, chamomile, local honey and lavender the result is a wonderful fresh, floral and citrusy gin and still a very classic juniper-driven gin.

We simply love this gin – and we are not the only ones: It was awarded the Gold medal at the World Spirits Award in 2016 for being the best gin in the world that year.
